New ARC Rates

Thank you for the role that you have played in supporting ARC over the years. We would truly not be the organization we are today without you; it is a steadfast and loving community that keeps ARC strong. As a valued ARC supporter and part of our extended community, I’m writing to let you know that with the backing of ARC’s Board of Directors (who voted unanimously) we will implement a price increase to support the health and long-term sustainability of the organization beginning September 1st, 2017.

After researching comparable costs of spiritual retreat centers in the region, running our own multi-year analysis and reviewing ARC’s rate history, we developed the attached rate schedule, which is effective for new reservations September 1, 2017. We will honor your existing contract at the previously agreed upon rates and we invite you to consider using the updated rates as an investment in building a strong foundation for the next 40 years.

Over the next six months, these rate increases will support our work to:

  • build a user friendly online reservation system

  • increase our ability to keep information on hand so that we will know your dietary needs and group preferences every time you come regardless of community,

  • develop a thriving scholarship program and

  • source primarily organic and local foods which have increased in price

Over the next 3-5 years, these rates will allow ARC to increase its ability to serve groups and individuals by:

  • supporting the hire of additional part-time staff

  • growing the size of the community

  • continuing to support the evolving dietary needs of guests (FodMap, Gluten Free, etc)

  • maintaining the operations and facilities aspects of ARC

While ARC will still rely on the generosity of donors, we are hoping to decrease our reliance on donations to cover operating expenses and instead streamline them towards the major facilities updates outlined in our 2017 3-5 year strategic plan. These projects are likely to include: new flooring in the lodge, overhauls to all of the guest rooms including new beds and sinks, and an updated heating system to decrease reliance on wood.

Please understand that ARC has not changed prices in the nearly 8 years and that many things have changed in the world that effect ARC’s ability to provide the radical hospitality you love. In order to stay a light in an increasingly complicated world we must also grow.

In 2018, ARC will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a year of events. We trust that you will continue to support this sacred space by joining us for these events as well as on our trajectory to financial stability. Our goal is purely to ensure a joyful, simple, and merciful experience for all who seek it.

If you are interested in learning more about our strategic plan, price points, or implementation please contact myself or our Director of Operations, shay(den) at: or by calling our office 763-689-3540.

Sending peace and the healing energies of ARC,

Danielle Dryke

Executive Director

  • A group must book the lodge completely prior to using the cottage, if not, they will be charged a fee for the use of the cottage as a meeting space or at cost for retreat guests if they are using it as sleeping quarters, as applicable. Groups that overflow from the lodge to the cottage or the hermitage will be charged the same per person rate as the rest of the group members in the lodge.

  • Beginning Fall 2017, the bayroom is no longer be accessible for guest use unless previously requested.

  • There is no option to request the living room as a private meeting space due to the open nature of the building.

For those who cannot afford our requested fees, we anticipate having a scholarship program available in 2018.

A Note About Our Rates:

Our requested rates, as stated above, cover approximately 70% of the actual costs of providing accommodations and meals. Donations cover the remaining costs.

ARC is deeply thankful for the support received from generous contributors through the years. We would not be able to continue with our mission in the world without these generous gifts.

If you can contribute more than the above fee for your retreat, and find it in your heart to do so, you may donate as a tax-deductible contribution.
