Joining the ARC Community
ARC is a spiritual home not only to its guests but also its resident community. As such, it is imperative that members are able to support each other not only in the day-to-day tasks of running a retreat center but also in their personal and spiritual development.
To ensure this type of mutuality, interested applicants are invited to spend 5-7 days on site, living and working beside the current resident community members. During this time, potential community members will be given a private room, all meals, and have 1:1 meetings with all community members and at least 1 part-time staff member in addition to their daily tasks.
Joining community is a process that can last up to 3 months, depending upon the applicant and their process. If you are interested in exploring the community experience but not ready to yet join community, you can come on an as an ARC community support member for 1 week up to 1month.
- Once you have submitted your application (below), resume, and have emailed a brief description of how you believe your personal values align with those of ARC, someone will reach out to you in 5-7 business days.
- If your values align with those of ARC's, you will be invited to participate in an informational interview via Skype or google hangouts. If you and the current resident community are interested, you will be invited for a 5-7 day long site visit.
- Following your site visit, ARC's community will take 1-2 weeks in discernment and will ask that you do the same. Learn more about the discernment process here.
- If following discernment, ARC still feels like a good fit for both you and community, you will be invited to make a 3 month commitment with the option of extending up to 1 year as a long-term community member or 3 years as a community leader.
Complete the ARC Community Member Application form, email your resume and a brief (1-3 paragraph) description of yourself and how the position would be a good match between you and the ARC (vision/mission/values) at this time to
