Community Reunion: The Heart of ARC
Grace and Gratitude: 40 years of Hospitality
Starts: Friday September 7th at 6 pm
Ends: Sunday September 9th at 2 pm
Rain fell for "forty days and forty nights" during the Flood
Muhammad was forty years old when he first received the revelation delivered by the archangel Gabriel
In the Hindu system some of the popular fasting periods consist 40 days
Across faith traditions the number 40 bears a strong significance wherein it demonstrates periods of testing, fasting, prayer, and purification. 40 years also denotes the passing of an entire generation.
This year ARC enters it’s 40th year of hosting guests. As a part the 40th anniversary, we honor that the reason ARC as an organization has been able to be steadfast in physically and spiritually upholding our mission is because of the gift of Community.
ARC Community members, all bearing our own bond through faith, discerned that holding and maintaining this sacred space has at one point or another been our calling. In our commitment we have laughed together, cried together, and made sure that even if an entire pot of soup falls on the floor the rusks still went out!
We invite YOU past Community Members to spend the weekend eating, talking, praying, meditating, and taking periods of silence together. We invite you to reflect on what ARC has been and how to hold it true as generations and spirituality changes.
*Ruth Halvorson will be joining us to share her story during this weekend
