Update on ARC Retreat Community Transition Plan

The ARC Board and Community have convened two gatherings to further the conversation about our past, present, and most importantly, our future.  Over 30 people attended these two events and many others have written or called with their input into this important conversation.  The next gatherings are being organized as open houses on Saturday May 18th from 10am to 1pm and Sunday June 23rd from 2-5pm.  These will both be hosted at ARC and will feature tours of the grounds, building improvements, and conversations about the future of ARC.  Look to the ARC website for more details.

In March the ARC Board approved the appointment of Dr. Suzanne M. Begin as the interim director for ARC.  Suzanne brings a diverse set of leadership skills that will serve ARC well during the next several months as the transition planning unfolds.

Beginning on May 6th ARC will enter a four month sabbatical during which the transition planning will be our primary focus.   The Board--along with other key stakeholders--will discern what is the future of an ARC 2.0 and if there is sufficient support for sustainable staffing, resident community, and funding for a relaunch of ARC 2.0.

We anticipate the Sabbatical will run through the end of the summer when we expect to have a definitive plan for ARC’s future ready to share.  During this down time the Hermitage and the Cottage will be available for use.  Guests will be invited to provide their own meals.   See the ARC website or call for more information.

The Board and Suzanne are developing a fund raising program to support the ARC transition plan.  Look for more information on this in May.
