The ministry of the retreat center is rooted in the Christian tradition, serving groups and individuals seeking time apart, rest, and spiritual renewal.
ARC seeks to fulfill its mission by modeling and encouraging a commitment to:
- balancing Action, Reflection, Celebration
- working for peace and justice in the world
- caring for the environment and living simply
- connecting times of retreat to daily life so that the journey inward inspires the journey outward
- being joyful, simple, merciful (the words on the ARC cornerstone)
ARC seeks to fulfill its mission by providing hospitality that nurtures body, mind and soul. This includes:
- embracing all people in their diversity, including people of all faith traditions, ages, races, abilities, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and income ranges
- welcoming guests into the sanctuary of the woods where nature nourishes the soul
- greeting guests by name and warmly welcoming them "home"
- providing a safe, peaceful refuge and a quiet, contemplative space where silence is inviting
- offering creative and inclusive daily worship
- fostering personal and spiritual growth and transformation
- serving delicious, wholesome, homemade meals that are lovingly prepared
- sustaining ARC's ministry through a volunteer resident staff
